2018 Parasport Jumpstart Bursaries

The Parasport Jumpstart Fund is a joint program between Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities and the Canadian Paralympic Committee to create greater opportunities for sport and play for children with disabilities. 
CADS – Canadian Adaptive Snowsports – is proud to have been selected for this year’s Parasport Jumpstart Fund, which will provide $20,000 in bursary funds to help kids between the ages of 4 and 18 years with physical, sensory and/or cognitive disabilities overcome financial and accessibility barriers to actively participate in learning, participating and/or competing in skiing and snowboarding. 
Two sets of bursaries are available now:
  1. To support participation across Canadain a CADS program of your choice
  2. To support participation at the week-long 2018 CADS Ski and Snowboard Festival
These bursaries are available to anyone who wishes to learn a new sport or improve their existing abilities, whether it be at the 2018 CADS Festival or at their favorite ski and snowboard area across canada. Jumpstart and CADS intend to help families with costs related to registration, equipment or transportation needed to be able to practice their sport.
Selection criteria:
  • Recipients must be aged between 4 and 18 years old
  • Wish to try or continue to ski and/or snowboard this season
  • Application via e-mail to Elisa Marin Couture, with the following information
    • Youth’s name, age and contact information of the guardian or caregiver
    • Description of current barrier(s) to skiing and/or snowboarding
    • Bursary for Local participation and/or for the CADS Festival
  • Deadline of midnight EST on Monday February, 19th 2018.
All participants who meet these criteria and submit an application are eligible. After the application deadline, a draw will be held to select 16 Festival Bursaries of $625 and 16 General Bursaries of $625. The recipients will afterwards be contacted directly by email on February 22, 2018.

2018 CADS National Awards Nominations

Each year CADS recognizes those members and volunteers who have contributed in many and varied ways in the promotion and development of Adaptive Snowsports in Canada.

2018 National Board of Directors Applications are open

At the upcoming AGM on Marth 19th,2018 during the CADS Ski and Snowboard festival in Mont Saint Anne, Quebec, there will be an opening for 3 elected positions to the CADS National Board of Directors.

Applications must be submitted by February 23rd

 2018 Technical Committee Applications are open

Applications are now being accepted for positions within the Canadian Adaptive Snowsports National Technical Committee (CADS TC). The committee is seeking keen and hard-working individuals interested in participating in the technical aspects of CADS.  This work will take place by committing involvement to the various sub-committees within the CADS TC.
